The walls along the shoreline side of our excavation area and along the south side of Thief's Row are really taking shape now. The process of discovering the extent of the buildings has become addictive and exciting - as we still don't know if these these structures were houses or if they served some other purpose. We pulled out two clay pipe bowls from a later layer overlying one of the buildings, whilst the quantity of medieval ceramics arising from around the buildings is increasing. A few more days and the layout of this settlement will really start to show.

We are grateful to Garry Mackay for visiting the site today and taking some excellent aerial photographs!
