Day Two

by Lynn - 22:07 on 28 July 2013

After our lovely sun yesterday, today got off to a rather wet start! Undaunted, our volunteers took refuge in the marquee and began to wash and catalogue the finds from yesterday.

Once the rain had eased off we headed out into the trench to continue with the removal of the residue of the topsoil left by the machine. There were quite a few sore muscles from yesterday's labours!

We were joined by some young lads who enthusiastically got stuck in to doing some excavating and finds washing.

We should finish removing the last remnants of topsoil tomorrow and begin to investigate some of the features that are slowly revealing themselves. Let's hope for some more sun!
